Meet Dominique, Our New Creative Coordinator

The Detail & Design team is thrilled to welcome our new Creative Coordinator, Dominique Heath, who recently graduated from Bradley University with a B.S. in Interactive Media and Marketing. Though she came to us from Chicago, she is originally from the Carolinas and loves being back in her home state. In particular, she is falling in love with the Durham community.

Dominique has always been interested in the arts. In college, her love for traditional art and cartoons expanded into a passion for graphic design and digital illustration. Her favorite part of the job is the creative process - beginning with just an idea and then transforming that idea into a brand, logo, or website that will help a business succeed.

Dominique considers herself a “jack of all trades” in the world of design and communications. In the past, she has freelanced as a brand coordinator, web designer, and video compositor and has also enjoyed sharing her artistic gifts with others, particularly children. During the summer of 2014, Dominique volunteered at the Coding Initiative Camp, where she taught youth from low-income and underrepresented communities the fundamentals of HTML and CSS. Dominique has volunteered at youth art camps, as well, and has also hosted her own online painting and drawing tutorials.

When she is not painting, Dominique loves a good crime novel. Halloween is her favorite holiday and she loves all of the amazing literature that comes with it - Edgar Allan Poe and Stephen King, to be specific. To contrast her love for all things thrilling, she has recently taken up yoga and is trying to end her days on a relaxing note.

Someday, Dominique hopes to open a design studio of her own. But for now, she is excited to continue her design journey with the Detail & Design team.
